Taking over remediation liability and working in remote places in Brazil, this is also GreenSoil!
LIABILITY TAKE OVER in NL
GreenSoil entered into a fixed price contract for the demolition and remediation of a site in the Netherlands, including taking over the remediation liability. GreenSoil successfully and timely finished the demolition of a former factory of about 5,5 ha. The soil remediation and the installation work of the in-situ remediation system were finished and installed in such a way that construction of the new building can be done. Groundwater was treated biologically (anaerobic) using the installed remediation system underneath the new building. GreenSoil handed over the site to the client within 5 months after signing the contract to allow for the client to start redevelopment works on the site. The remediation operation is going according to plan and will be completed within 1 year.
The first full scale project in Brazil involved the implementation of an in-situ remediation system to remove LNAPL and to reduce the dissolved phase groundwater plume at a Train Fuel Station / Maintenance yard of a Mining company in the north of Brazil, close to the Amazon rain forest. The LNAPL was extracted using a dense extraction system. The contaminated groundwater was treated in a bioreactor before discharge on a river.
In about 2 years, the complete LNAPL was removed and the in-situ bioremediation to further reduce the groundwater plume is now running.
