GreenSoil acquired Udetect, a mobile qPCR device
19 May 2021
Molecular analysis in the form of quantitative PCR can be a powerful tool to demonstrate the progress of biodegradation during a remediation project. However, when working in remote locations or when fast results are needed, samples collection, transport and ‘traditional’ analysis can be challenging. For this reason, GreenSoil teamed up with Orvion who developed Udetect, a mobile qPCR for fast, accurate and easy monitoring of groundwater. Udetect can now be used on site to detect 5 targets for anaerobic remediation of chlorinated compounds and 2 targets for aerobic dioxane degradation. Greensoil R&D can easily perform the 3-step procedure (filtration – DNA extraction – qPCR analysis) to obtain results within a few hours.
